KIWI310 for Industrial Compact Solutions

In today's rapidly evolving industrial landscape, the demand for efficiency, precision and scalability has never been greater. In this competitive field, manufacturers are immersed in the search for a balance between product size and quality. While pursuing size efficiency remains essential, maintaining product integrity and excellence is equally crucial.

In particular, during this challenge, there are those, like KIWIboard, who have emerged as a pioneer, taking advantage of the obstacles of the digital era and transforming them into opportunities; KIWIboard stands out as one of the first visionaries in “opening a window” to the scope of compact solutions, effectively closing the gap between innovation and practicality.

Among the extensive KIWIboard product line offerings, the KIWI310 model stands out as a reliable industrial solution, presented in a compact 1.8" form factor. This single-board computer, powered by the Intel Celeron N3350 processor and using The robust x86 architecture, distinguishes itself not only by offering industrial-grade reliability but also by significantly improving productivity compared to its counterparts.

Available models

KIWIboards understands the needs of the market and is currently offering two models:

  • KIWI310-J1B-H (eMMC – 32 GB, RAM – 2 GB)
  • KIWI310-J2C-H (eMMC – 64 GB, RAM – 4 GB)

Compact form factor design

The KIWI310 is a gem of innovation with its impressively reduced size, measuring just 85 x 56 mm. This small form factor has made it an exceptional choice for deployment within environments where space is at a premium. Whether fitting into compact industrial machinery, integrating seamlessly into IoT devices, or becoming an integral part of embedded systems, the KIWI310's compact dimensions enable it to be used even in the most confined spaces. Its ability to offer high performance and advanced functionality within such a diminutive frame has opened up a world of possibilities for those seeking to optimize their projects in space-constrained scenarios.

Elevated Digital Interfaces

The KIWI310 is reinforced with a 40-pin connector enriched with UART, I2C, SPI, GPIO, and PWM capabilities for effortless peripheral integration, including sensors and expansion modules. The modern M.2 Key E interface is a standout feature, presented in the compact 2230 form factor, packed with USB 2.0 and PCIe compatibility. Notably, this slot supports modern Wi-Fi or LTE modules, allowing advanced connectivity options. Additionally,  this interface opens the door for AI applications through the HAILO 8 card.

Unlike typical office alternatives, which often rely on micro SD cards (a potential vulnerability with implications for industrial compatibility), the KIWI310 features inherent eMMC memory (32GB or 64GB, depending on the model). This integral feature enhances the security level of the design, adding an additional layer of reliability.

Enhanced PCB and Heatsink Design

Manufactured with a base of industrial quality components, the KIWI310 promises high durability and resistance to work even in the most hostile environments. In particular, unlike traditional electrolytic capacitors, this robust assembly features densely packed components and solid capacitors, recognized for their long life and exceptional performance over a broad temperature spectrum. This transition to solid capacitors also means increased safety, a primary concern in the industrial landscape.

A notable aspect is the meticulous elimination of cables, connectors, and other mechanical elements, except for the included lithium battery, which guarantees an agile and easy-to-maintain architecture. Further augmenting the value of this engineering marvel, the aluminum heatsink, an indispensable element for efficiently releasing heat, is also included in the kit package.

Protective Enclosure

The enclosure not only adds strength and durability to the KIWI310 but is meticulously crafted from premium sheet metal for those seeking the ultimate elegance - APC208. Its precisely designed holes, strategically located along the periphery of the enclosure, allow for effortless flat surface mounting. Additionally, at your request, a DIN rail version can be adapted to suit installation inside electrical cabinets. This innovation facilitates perfect integration with modular equipment, optimizing the use of space within the industrial framework.
